CIT Announces Winners in Apps4VA High School Apps Development Challenge

CIT, in partnership with the Virginia Longitudinal Data System (VLDS), announced today the winners of the 2016 Apps4VA software application (app) development competitions. The competition’s two tracks challenged university and high school student teams to create unique apps and innovative solutions to common societal and educational challenges.

Governor McAuliffe Announces Partnership to Create Cybersecurity Employment and Education Opportunities in Southwest

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that UVa-Wise and the MACH37 Cyber Accelerator at the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) have agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will strengthen the cybersecurity industry and create new cyber jobs, internships, and educational programs in the Southwest Virginia region.

Innovative Device Allows 3D Imaging of the Breast with Less Radiation

CRCF Awardee from U.S. Department of Energy’s Jefferson Lab, in Newport News, has developed a new device that is capable of providing 3D images with 6x better contrast for breast screening for tumors. This technology has the potential to maintain the same or better image quality while halving the radiation dose to patients. CRCF has invested in this initiative through two awards over the last three years.
