As Vice President Research Investment for the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT), Nancy Vorona focuses on assessing and strengthening technology industry clusters in Virginia. She oversees the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF), a multi-million dollar grant program that drives economic development in Virginia through technology research and commercialization. She had lead responsibilities for the Commonwealth Research & Technology Strategic Roadmap and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Measurement System (IEMS); she also has managed federal and state contracts and grants supporting research and economic development. Prior to her appointment as Vice President of Research Investment, Nancy was CIT's Senior Industry Director for Advanced Materials and Electronics. Nancy joined CIT in 1998. Prior to joining CIT, Nancy held international trade positions with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, International Rectifier Corporation (California), and Integrated Display Technology Ltd. (Hong Kong). She received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ.
