Kristal Parker is the Director of Human Resources at the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT). She has a passion for driving excellence through innovation, quality service and her comprehensive knowledge of business operations. At CIT, she is responsible for providing visionary leadership and human resources guidance in framing a high performance workforce that supports the organization’s mission, vision, values, and goals. As a trusted advisor, Ms. Parker contributes directly to long and short-term strategic objectives which maximizes her ability to lead change and promote improvement within the organization. Ms. Parker oversees all human resources programs and initiatives and partners with leaders across the organization to enhance the employee experience while managing organizational expectations.
Ms. Parker has over 20 years of human resources experience with over 10 years in executive leadership roles. Prior to joining CIT, Ms. Parker developed an extensive portfolio managing and delivering key human resources programs spanning both the public and private sectors. In her early career, she had opportunities to gain progressive experience working for the Federal Government at the Office of Naval Research (ONR), The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), and at various engineering companies (mid-size and start-up) supporting the Federal Government contracting industry.
Through these roles she has developed expertise in the areas of: Benefits and compensation analysis, recruitment and retention, talent management and succession planning, employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, training and development, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, policies and procedures, employee engagement, change management, and process improvement.
Ms. Parker achieved her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Management and a Human Resources certification from George Mason University. She holds dual credentials as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She is a member of the nationally recognized Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), the Northern Virginia chapter of SHRM, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Prince William Society of Human Resources Management (PWSHRM).
