Commonwealth Tech Commercialization Grant Programs

In addition to the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund, Virginia offers a pipeline of other technology research and commercialization grant programs, including:


Commonwealth Health Research Board 
To promote and protect the health of the citizens of the Commonwealth through human health research.

TIC-Logo   The Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission is a 28-member body created by the 1999 General Assembly. Its mission is the promotion of economic growth and development in tobacco-dependent communities, using proceeds of the national tobacco settlement. 

Virginia Catalyst provides non-dilutive grant funding where two or more of Virginia's research universities collaborating together with an industry partner create solutions to improve human health and accelerate commercialization of breakthrough technologies in the life sciences.


The Virginia Research Investment Fund was created by the Virginia General Assembly in 2016 to foster economic development and job creation through innovative and collaborative research, development, and commercialization efforts and the recruitment and retention of eminent researchers.
