FY20 CRCF Details, SBIR/STTR Tips, and CIT GAP Funds Process
Join us, and our hosts, Innovate Lynchburg and the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, as we present information on CIT's Funding Programs. These include the FY20 Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF), tips on SBIR/STTR grants, and how to engage with CIT GAP Funds and Virginia Founders Fund.

9:30AM-10:15AM -- FY20 CRCF BRIEFING:
The FY20 CRCF will award approximately $2.5 million to Virginia's private sector, higher education, federal research facilities, and other research organizations through five programs: Commercialization, SBIR Matching Funds, STTR Matching Funds, Matching Funds, and Eminent Researcher Recruitment. Award caps range from $75,000 to $250,000. CRCF accelerates innovation and drives economic growth in Virginia by advancing solutions to important state, national, and global problems through technology research, development, and commercialization. CRCF will invite high potential technology development projects in five targeted industries: Clean Energy; Cyber Security; Data Analytics; Life Sciences; and Unmanned Systems. Hear an overview of eligibility criteria, solicitation timeline, application process, the Letter of Intent (LOI) with a revised approach this year, and tips for creating strong submissions.
10:15AM-10:30AM -- SBIR/STTR TIPS & SUPPORT FOR VIRGINIA APPLICANTS
The federal SBIR and STTR programs award over $3B annually to small tech firms in order to develop early stage, high risk, high payoff technology. 11 agencies participate, with awards ranging from $100K to $1.5M. SBIR proposal tips will be provided, as well as a preview of the Oct. 16-17 NIH/NSF SBIR & Commercialization Conference in Roanoke, VA
10:30AM-10:45AM -- CIT GAP FUNDs & VIRGINIA FOUNDERS FUND
CIT GAP Funds provides equity investments to early stage, high growth potential companies. CIT GAP Funds invests up to $250K in seed stage tech, clean tech/energy, life science and tech-enabled services companies. A companion fund, VFF, focuses on investments in women-owned, veteran-owned or minority-owned start-ups, as well as start-ups located in traditionally underserved regions of Virginia.
