Support for Virginia's Entrepreneurial Ecosystems
CIT's Entrepreneurial Ecosystems Division (EED) was established in July 2020 to support and promote technology-focused entrepreneurial ecosystems throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Starting with the understanding that entrepreneurs are important drivers of economic growth, EED supports Virginia-based partner organizations that support entrepreneurs through the early stages of business formation and growth.
EED connects with and leverages the expertise and infrastructure of our partner organizations, and works with them to develop and strengthen programs that support entrepreneurs in all regions of the Commonwealth. These programs will be administered either by CIT or by a partner organization, and in the latter case CIT may provide funding and/or administrative support to the partner. We intend to use FY21 as a year to pilot new programs while providing financial and administrative resources to support our partners’ existing programs.
We are still developing our programs for FY21, but will be announcing program specifics by March 2021. If you have any questions about EED or our programs, contact Sean Mallon, Vice President, Entrepreneurial Ecosystems, at sean.mallon@cit.org.
