Virongy, a Manassas-based biotech company, has dedicated significant amounts of resources for COVID-19 research. Virongy has recently developed COV-2-PIE (SARS-CoV-2 Pseudovirus Infection Enhancer) to support COVID-19 research in universities and biotech companies along with a new, convenient drug screening system for anti-COVID-19 viral drugs and neutralizing antibodies. Using the system, Virongy has helped a Leesburg-based company, DeJia Harmony, to discover an active anti-COVID-19 virus compound in a Traditional Chinese Medicine, RDS (Respiratory Detox Shot).
