Research and Technology Investment Advisory Committee (RTIAC)

The Research and Technology Investment Advisory Committee (RTIAC) recommends projects for award under the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF) to the CIT Board and supports the development of the Commonwealth Research and Technology (R&T) Strategic Roadmap. The advisory board was established through legislation in 2011 and is comprised of the following individuals: four vice-provosts of research from major state institutions of higher education; the president and chief executive officer of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP); and five citizen members appointed by the Speaker of the House of Delegates, the Senate Committee on Rules, or the Governor - one member with experience in financing emerging technology businesses, two members who represent engineering firms, one citizen who represents an independent or federal research facility in the Commonwealth, and one citizen who represents a technology company with significant operations in the Commonwealth. The Code of Virginia addresses the RTIAC.
