Tom Weithman - Vice President and Managing Director

Beginning in 2004, Tom has established and grown CIT GAP Funds, a family of seed-stage venture funds focused on making equity investments in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s most promising tech and life science companies.  In forming GAP Fund I, Weithman brought together initial investment capital, developed and implemented all deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management processes, and recruited all members of the investment team and GAP Fund board.

Alex Euler - Investment Director

Alex joined CIT in 2011 and is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and closing seed and early stage investments.  Prior to CIT, Alex was the Director of the Advantage Incubator at bwtech@UMBC and program manager for the Northrop Grumman Cync Program where, in addition to identifying and recruiting innovative cybersecurity companies for the program, he provided business mentorship and capital access services to entrepreneurs and worked to cultivate strategic relationships with various stakeholders, including investors.

Dan Henderson - Investment Director

Dan joined CIT in 2013 and is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and closing seed and early stage investments.  Dan comes to CIT from BeClose, a venture-backed wireless home health company, where he worked as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. At BeClose, Dan researched, designed and implemented a national distribution strategy and introduced numerous companies to BeClose technology. Prior to joining BeClose, Dan worked as Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at FastSoft, Inc, a web acceleration software startup; as the co-founder and President of Bhavan Media, a digital media company; and as co-founder and President of i-Vantage, an IT services consultancy.

Sean Mallon - Senior Investment Director

Sean joined CIT in 2011 as Senior Investment Director for the GAP Tech Fund.  In this role, he leads deal sourcing and due diligence efforts for early stage companies committed to rapid growth and the development of innovative products and services.  He also serves as CIT’s representative on the boards of several portfolio companies. Mallon has over 17 years of investment and start-up experience focused on aggressive growth, transformation and optimization. 

Jennifer O'Daniel - Investment Director

Jen joined CIT GAP Funds in 2003, and is responsible for sourcing, diligencing and closing of seed and early stage investments.  As part of the investment team, O'Daniel has been part of transactions in over 60 seed and early-stage companies via CIT GAP Funds, which has been recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine's Annual VC100 list since 2006. O’Daniel currently sits on the board of directors for The Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council and The Richmond Venture Forum, the board of advisors for Foster.ly, and is a mentor for Founder's Institute.  

Marco Rubin - GAP Funds Advisor

Marco is responsible for sourcing, diligence and closing of seed and early stage investments on behalf of the CIT and serves as a board representative to a numerous portfolio companies. He also formed and manages Exoventure Associates, LLC primarily engaged in emerging market activity in Russia and former CIS states. 

Veronica Waters - Executive Assistant

Veronica joined CIT GAP Funds in June  2011. She gives administrative support to the Entrepreneur and Investment Services Team. She is responsible to coordinate the logistics for CIT GAP Funds Investment Advisory Board Meetings and serves as liaison between the Finance Department and GAP Funds during and after investment deals. Prior to joining CIT, Veronica worked at the World Bank for seven years as an Administrative Assistant in the Energy Department of the East Asia and Pacific Regional Unit.
