2/21/13 - Practical Financing Advice for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs - 4:30PM @ Virginia Tech Research Center in Arlington, VA

Join the NVTC Small Business and Entrepreneur Committee for an evening with some of the most active early-stage investors in the region as well as a founder that has recently succeeded in the fundraising process. Learn how to meet and pitch to investors and find out what really matters to investors before they invest. Discussion topics include: current trends in early-stage investing, hot sectors, what investors consider when making an investment, and the best (and worst) things an entrepreneur can do when interacting with investors.  For more information: http://www.nvtc.org
  

2/21/13 - Startup Kids Movie Screening - 5PM @ The Taubman Museum in Roanoke, VA 

Hosted by RBTC. The Startup Kids is a documentary about young web entrepreneurs in the U.S. and Europe. It contains interviews with the founders of Vimeo, Soundcloud, Kiip, InDinero, Dropbox, Foodspotting and many others who talk about how they started their company and their lives as an entrepreneur.  Networking begins at 5PM, the movie starts at 6:30PM.  For more information:

2/21/13 - Pitch Night - 7PM @ HackCville in Charlottesville, VA

Pitch night at HackCville brings the hammer down on the best of UVA entrepreneurs.

First. Teams in the accelerator program meet at HackCville for dinner and an unfiltered feedback session with peers and mentors. Teams share their progress, challenges, and whether or not they met goals for the week. Second. Candidate teams for admission to the accelerator program share a presentation on their project. Afterwards, current teams vote whether or not to accept new candidates. Third. A HackCville mentor shares a short presentation/discussion on a topic of entrepreneurship. Thursday Pitch Night is open to all of our members, guests, and curious students who want to see entrepreneurship in action. 2/25/13 - Hack Night - 7PM @ HackCville in Charlottesville, VA 

Monday they welcome makers, hackers, beginners and experts, to join up and build stuff! Whether you are prototyping (digital or physical) or refining, Hack Night is the best meet-up around. Demo products, Share best practices, Ask questions of other hackers, and Jump into an existing project.  Hacknight starts at 7PM and is a free program open to the community.
