Mid-Atlantic Regional Coastal Ocean Observing System (MARCOOS)
CIT's other work in marine sciences include National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)-funded projects to:
- Develop effective ballast water treatment technologies in order to minimize invasive species and address other environmental concerns, and
- Assess the comparative growth and survival of native and C. ariakensis triploid oysters during field trials, while ensuring and improving biosecurity, to address the declining oyster population in the Chesapeake Bay.
