NIH & SBIR Grant Prep Workshop, Includes Commercialization Planning & One on Ones -- October 4-5, 2011
June 14, 2011 - Herndon, VA
(8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
SBIR grants (Small Business Innovation Research) and it’s sister STTR grant program (Small Business Technology Transfer) provide $150K - $1M in early stage R&D funding. 11 participating federal agencies use this program to fund early stage technology development that will help them solve their problems and meet their missions. $2.5B is available in this program, with the main purpose to commercialize the funded technology.
This two day, multi-session workshop is presented by Lisa Kurek of Biotechnology Business Consultants, LLC. Special attention will be paid to National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF) proposal development & submission. CIT leads the Commonwealths efforts in SBIR/STTR outreach and brings this event to assist Virginia firms in their efforts to participate more effectively.
CIT is encouraging firms to attend this workshop to enhance their NIH SBIR proposal success and be eligible to apply for the new $50K Phase I NIH SBIR Matching Grant fund that was recently passed by the Virginia General Assembly. Details on this program will be announced, but funds will not be available to apply for until after November 1, 2011.
Meet with NIH & NSF SBIR Program Managers, CIT GAP Fund Reps, SBIR Consultant Instructor, and CIT's Federal Funding Assistance Program Rep on Oct. 5 from 12;30-3:00PM.
