SBIR/STTR Grant Tips Workshop, w/ DOE Funding Tips Session

October 12, 2010 - Richmond, VA
(12:30 PM - 5:00 PM)

CIT is proud to team up with the The Governor's Conference on Energy, The SBIR Resource Center®, and the Dept. of Energy to deliver this special Small Business Innovation Research Grant (SBIR) training workshop.

What is SBIR?  11 federal agencies provide SBIR grants of $150K to $1M to small businesses to perform early stage, high risk R&D. This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to learn the basics about SBIR, who may be interested in developing new technology via federal research grants funding, and who may be targeting an upcoming SBIR/STTR deadline. This event also provides a refresher on the main concepts that can make your next SBIR proposal more competitive.

A special add-on session provides specific tips to those considering a submission to the Dept. of Energy SBIR/STTR solicitation that closes Nov. 24. A DOE Rep will also be on hand to discuss their SBIR program, the current solicitation, and other funding programs at DOE that may be a fit for early stage technology firms performing R&D.

Attend all or part of the following sessions:

12:30-1:00 PM: Check-in/Registration

1:00 PM – 1:30PM: “SBIR/STTR Overview” – New to SBIR and STTR? This short session will give you a short overview of the program and how it can be used to help you develop new technologies and grow your business.
