"SBIR Competitive Checklist Workshop" & "NASA Submission Tips Session"

CIT is proud to team up with TECC, NASA, and The SBIR Resource Center® to deliver this special SBIR training workshop. The SBIR Checklist Workshop is ideal for anyone targeting an upcoming SBIR/STTR deadline. This event provides a refresher on the main concepts that can make your next SBIR/STTR proposal more competitive. A NASA SBIR/STTR Submission Tips Module will be especially helpful to those targeting the Sept. 4 NASA SBIR/STTR deadline. Be sure to make your next proposal more competitive! Attend all or part of the following sessions:

AGENDA:

9:00-9:30AM: Check-in/Registration

9:30AM - 12:15PM: “SBIR/STTR Competitive Checklist Review” - Applicable to all agencies

This session reviews a special "checklist" covering the key competitive areas of your pending SBIR and STTR proposal, allowing you to consider making appropriate modifications to make your proposal stand out and be more competitive. Topics covered include:
- Have you adequately defined your opportunity? Your response?
- Have you appropriately related the issues to the agency’s needs?
- Has the project/research plan been written to meet the reviewer’s needs and designed to take advantage of review processes and reviewer habits?
- Have you provided a sufficiently deep technical discussion?
- Will your document convince the reviewer of your intent, and ability, to commercialize?
- Have you showcased your resources to best advantage?
- Is your commercialization plan adequate?
- Have you discussed the “Value Chain” sufficiently?
- Have you properly considered the Agency’s culture in your approach?
- A special take-home “Competitive Checklist” workbook will be provided.
 
12:15-1PM: Networking Lunch and Q&A - Lunch and discussions with the professional SBIR instructor and CIT representatives.
 
1:00-1:30PM: Summary Statement Tips - Every proposal needs one, but what makes a good summary statement and how can it help ensure that your proposal gets read!
 
1:30-4:00PM: NASA Submission Tips Modules
- 1:30-2:00PM - Tips from NASA, presented by Bob Yang, NASA
- 2-2:15PM -- Break
- 2 :15-3:15PM -- Commercialization Tips, Presented by TECC and The SBIR Resource Center - the TECC is under contract with NASA to review proposals for award consideration. Hear how they score proposals and what a good commercialization plan should include.

- 3:45-4:00 - Wrap up and Networking
