CIT Issues Request for Innovators for Smart City Innovation Lab

CIT announced a Request for Innovators (RFI) for the Smart Cities Internet of Things Innovation (SCITI) Labs. CIT, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T), TechNexus, and Smart City Works are seeking to prototype new internet of things (IoT) and smart city technologies for emergency response and management.

Governor McAuliffe Announces CIT-VITA Partnership to Link Technology Companies with State Government

Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) has partnered with the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) to research, share and evaluate businesses who have made advancements in information technology (IT) that may be of value to state government. The partnership will be carried out by VITA’s Innovation Center of Excellence (ICE).

CRCF FY2016 awardee, Pancopia, Inc., receives Excellence in Technology Transfer Project of the Year 2017 award from the FLC

CRCF FY2016 awardee, Pancopia, Inc., has been awarded an Excellence in Technology Transfer Project of the Year 2017 award from the Federal Lab Consortium (FLC) for the development of a next-generation water purification system for NASA’s use on the International Space Station and future Mars missions. CRCF supported Pancopia’s NASA SBIR Phase I award for the development of this system, specifically adapting the technology to treat municipal wastewater.

Dr. Jason Lai, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech and FY2012 CRCF award recipient, led a team from Virginia Tech in the Google Little Box Challenge. CGPS : $10,000 Inclusion Revolution Innovation Competition

The Center for Global Policy Solutions (CGPS) is accepting proposals for the Inclusion Revolution Innovation Competition, which will be held as part of CGPS’s 2017 Future of Wealth Summit on April 28, 2017, in Washington, D.C. The competition, which is co-sponsored by JPMorgan Chase & Co., will award a $10,000 grant to the innovator who best uses technology to improve the social or economic well-being of traditionally marginalized communities.
