CRCF FY2018 Solicitation

The Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF) advances science- and technology-based research, development, and commercialization to drive economic growth in Virginia, create and foster high-potential technology companies in the Commonwealth, and to encourage and strengthen collaboration and partnerships between the public and private sector. The Fund seeks to advance Virginia's position in strategically important area including, but not limited to human health, cyber security, and smart communities.
$2.5 million is available to award during the single FY2018 round.

Applications submitted under any of the FY2018 solicitation programs must align with one or more of the following industry sectors.
Biosciences / MedTech
Energy, specifically clean energy
Environment, specifically water quality
Information Technology, specifically data analytics

The CRCF is composed of funds appropriated by the General Assembly and any gifts, grants, or donations from public or private sources. Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2.-2233.1, the Fund is administered by the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) on behalf of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment Authority (IEIA). Awards may be made to Virginia public or private institutions of higher education or their associated intellectual property foundations and qualified research institutions, federal research facilities located in Virginia, university research consortium that includes Virginia college and university member institutions, other nonprofit research institutions in Virginia, and/or to technology companies within the Commonwealth.
