IT is pleased to collaborate with the Floyd Innovation Center to present this special event. Learn about the funding support programs available to Virginia companies through the Center for Innovative Technology. Hear a short intro to the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding programs, followed by an overview of the services available from the Floyd Innovation Center. Come learn about these valuable resources, enjoy lunch on us, & network with others in the tech community!
11AM-11:15AM: Welcome Remarks
11:15-11:30AM: Accelerating Technology Innovation Across the Commonwealth -- Closing innovation gaps in the Commonwealth and across the nation by focusing on new technologies, entrepreneurs and technology companies that make innovation happen. Presented by Ed Albrigo, President, CIT
11:30-Noon: Intro to SBIR Funding -- SBIR funding is known as America’s Seed Fund, providing almost 25% of all early stage technology R&D capital in the US. Learn what federal agencies participate, what the goal of the program is, tips on how to proceed, and how CIT provides SBIR training and other support to Virginia's small technology community. Presented by Robert Brooke, CIT Federal Funding Assistance Program

12:15-12:40PM: CIT GAP Funds and other Regional Investment Funds --
The CIT GAP Fund -- This fund invests in high potential tech firms across Virginia. Find out if this program is a fit with your company, learn about the investment decision process, and what it takes to be an investible entrepreneur. Presented by Dan Henderson, CIT GAP Funds.
Phase II SBIR Matching Grants Progarm -- The Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission manages a special Phase II SBIR Matching Grant program. The Floyd Innovation Center is in the footprint of the region covered in this special funding program! Learn how this program works, and when the next opporunity to apply will be.
12:40-1:00PM: CRCF Grant Program – the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF) is a grant program for Virginia’s small technology business community and university researcher community. Learn about the types of projects that are funded, what technology sectors have been included, and when the next solicitation will likely be announced.
1-1:15PM: Floyd Innovation Center -- Learn about the Floyd Innovation Center, and what space, equipment, programs and incentives are available to tenants. Take a tour of the Center! Presented by Lydeana Martin, Director, Floyd Innovation Center
