SBIR/STTR Lunch & Learn (University of Virginia)

This Lunch and Learn will provide an overview of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Discussion will include info on the purpose of the programs, basic qualifications, participating agencies, funding amounts, and how to start to plan your approach to writing a winning proposal. We’ll also provide a brief discussion on how university PosDocs and Graduate students can participate in these programs. Lunch will be provided.

SBIR grants (Small Business Innovation Research) and STTR grant program (Small Business Technology Transfer) provide $150K - $1.5M in early stage R&D funding for high risk, new technology development.  11 participating federal agencies use this program to fund early stage technology development that will help them meet their missions.  Over $2.3 Billion is available each year in this program.

COST: 
Virginia based University Personnel & Researchers/PostDocs/Grad Students:  FREE
Virginia based small tech firms:  $15 per person
All others:  $50 per person
