Roanoke RoboParade 2013

10:30 AM - 03:00 PM

Science Museum of Western Virignia
1 Market St SE #4
Roanoke, VA , 24011

The Roanoke Blacksburg Technology Council, in conjunction with the Science Museum of Western Virginia and the Roanoke Robotics Club, is organizing our Third Annual indoor Robot Parade with seminars and table-top exhibits at the Science Museum at Center in the Square.

The parade features robot floats constructed and programmed by students of all ages. Attendees of the parade will be able to see fully autonomous robot floats that follow the parade route while detecting other robots in front of them. The robot floats are programmed to stop and start without human help. Floats may have extra mechanisms and programming to show off during the parade route. The theme this year, in honor of the new Center in The Square Science Museum, is Butterflies! Build a robot that represents the new butterfly exhibit at the science museum! We will award participants with a free pass to the butterfly exhibit, but they still need to buy their own science museum admission.
