TechNite is an annual celebration of the Roanoke - Blacksburg region’s technology community. It’s an opportunity to network with more than 400 leaders in business and innovation. The evening is highlighted with an awards ceremony, where leaders will be recognized in six categories: Rising Star, Entrepreneur, Regional Leadership, Innovation, Educator, and People's Choice.
Master of Ceremonies
Virginia Tech Hall of Famer Mike Burnop is serving his 29th season in the booth as the network analyst. Burnop was a star tight end for the Hokies in the early 1970s and still holds the Virginia Tech record for receptions in a season by a tight end with 46.
In 1986, Burnop returned to the Tech football program as the analyst on Tech football broadcasts, and hasn't missed a game since. He and Bill Roth form one of college sports longest-running broadcasting teams having worked every Tech game dating back to the 1988 season. He was inducted into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.
Mike owns New River Office Supply and has been named Blacksburg's Businessman of the Year.
