Sean Mallon joined CIT in 2011 as Senior Investment Director for the CIT GAP Funds. In this role, he leads deal sourcing and due diligence efforts for early stage companies committed to rapid growth and the development of innovative products and services. He also serves as CIT’s representative on the boards of several portfolio companies. Mallon has over 17 years of investment and start-up experience focused on aggressive growth, transformation and optimization. Prior to joining CIT, Mallon was the founder and CEO of Good Clean Fun Ventures, a company that designs and builds software solutions that help consumers save money on telecommunication services. From 2007 to 2010, Mallon was vice president of product marketing at Simplexity, the largest US online reseller of wireless phones and plans. Prior to that, he was vice president at InPhonic and general manager of its mobile content services division. Before joining InPhonic in 2005, Mallon was president and COO at Qmobile, a leader in the then-emerging direct-to-consumer ringtone market. Prior to Qmobile, he was vice president of marketing and business development at Sentori, a leading vendor of billing and customer care software for mobile carriers. Before joining Sentori in 2003, Mallon was a principal at Mid-Atlantic Venture Funds (MAVF), an early-stage venture capital firm focused on the telecommunications and IT industries. While at MAVF, he led and supported investments in several telecom companies, and served on Sentori’s board of directors. Prior to joining MAVF in 1999, Mallon was vice president of sales, marketing and business development at ORBIT/FR, a manufacturer of microwave test & measurement systems, and president, CEO and co-founder of RDI International, a consumer electronics manufacturer. Mallon holds an AB degree from Princeton University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
