Sandie Terry
Program Manager
Sandie joined CIT in 2012. As Broadband Program Manager she manages the four ARRA funded broadband projects including project plans, budgeting and associated contracts. Sandie also leads efforts to provide localities with strategic broadband plans identifying local assets, providers, gaps in broadband coverage and provide strategies to address the gaps and improve broadband adoption and utilization.
Sandie has over 30 years in information technology having served as the Director of Information Technology in Franklin County. While with the county, Sandie was responsible for leading the effort to form a public-private partnership with wireless Internet service providers to deliver broadband to the local government facilities, citizens and business which now provides services to thousands of citizens, businesses and local government facilities.
Sandie also served as co-chair of the Outreach Committee of the Virginia Governor’s Broadband Roundtable in 2008 and served for one year as a member of Virginia’s Broadband Advisory Council. Ms. Terry attended Virginia Tech majoring in Computer Science prior to her 30+ year career in information technology across several industries including insurance, manufacturing, transportation and software before joining the public sector in 2003.
