Linda Gentry, C.P.A.
Chief Financial Officer
Linda E. Gentry is a senior financial executive with over 30 years of management experience across a variety of industries. Linda has been with the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) since 1987. As part of her long-standing role as the Chief Financial Officer, she is part of the Executive Management Team and provides leadership and policy development for technology-based strategies for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Linda also provides guidance for CIT GAP Funds which make seed-stage equity investments in Virginia-based technology and life science companies with a high potential for achieving rapid growth. Linda holds board-level positions of Corporate Treasurer and Secretary, and counsels the Board of Directors on critical financial and corporate programs.
Prior to joining CIT, Linda worked for Intertek Testing Services International Ltd. as their Chief Financial Officer. Intertek is a leading international testing, inspection, and certification organization with over 280 laboratories and more than 13,500 people around the world. In her CFO position, Linda was responsible for the financial division of Intertek. While managing a large finance and accounting staff, Linda formulated strategies for corporate and contractual structure of foreign subsidiaries, markets for entry and exit, and financial leveraging.
Linda is a certified public accountant licensed in the State of Virginia. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The College of William and Mary, and both a Master of Science degree in information systems and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from The George Washington University.
