Dan R. Mills has been with Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) since 1987, and during that time he has worked with hundreds of firms to promote their growth and improve their competitive ability. As Vice-President of Regional Operations, Mr. Mills manages and guides CIT's regional offices in their achievement of the organization's strategic plan and resource deployment. Prior to his appointment as Vice President of Regional Operations, Mr. Mills was the Regional Director for the Richmond Region.

Mr. Mills has over 15 years of process-engineering and manufacturing experience including: seven years as a Group Manufacturing Manager with a multi-plant responsibility for a major refractories producer with annual sales of $25-$43 million; five years as a Plant Manager for a refractories plant with annual sales of $15 million; and four years as a Process Engineer in refractories and advanced manufacturing plants.

Mr. Mills offers a wealth of industry experience, along with a business education. He earned a bachelor's of science in Ceramic Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master's of Business Administration from The College of William & Mary. He also has taken numerous courses throughout his career on topics such as: technology transfer processes, statistical process control, marketing management, executive effectiveness, kiln burning, total quality management, problem/decision analysis, finance and accounting.
