Jeff Popielarczyk is a Business Development Manager for GE’s Global Research Center in Niskayuna, New York.  He joined GE Research in early 2002 and is responsible for identifying new GE business opportunities derived from emerging technologies. In this role, Jeff functions as an interface between the scientists in the labs, various GE business units, and external partners including the U.S. Government and other companies to initiate strategic development programs involving new technologies at GE Research.

Jeff began his career in 1989 at Martin Marietta as an engineer developing advanced electronic packaging technologies for avionic systems. In 1992, Jeff joined Harris Corporations Government Communications Division and managed the Microelectronics Packaging Development Lab. Jeff transitioned into a Product Marketing role after joining General Motors Delco Electronics division where he held several positions within the Portfolio Management group. He held these positions from 1995 to 2002 with his primary focus on developing sensor, power electronics, and hybrid vehicle opportunities. From 2002 to the present, Jeff shaped numerous business development projects in support of GE’s Ecomagination initiative for a broad range of technologies including energy efficient lighting, appliances, hybrids, energy storage, and photovoltaics. Jeff holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
