Mr. Thomas D. “Dan” Cundiff serves as the Deputy Director of the Comparative Testing Office within the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics. Dan manages the Department’s Foreign Comparative Testing and Defense Acquisition Challenge Programs, with oversight for testing, evaluating, and facilitating transition and procurement of foreign and domestic technology into U.S. weapon systems that directly support the Global War on Terrorism.
Over the past 18 years Dan has served in several positions within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, most recently as the Executive Secretary for the Combating Terrorism Technology Task Force, as Executive Secretary for Biometrics, and as Associate Director for Manufacturing Technology.
Dan has over 25 years of experience in the Department of Defense and Army spanning the product life cycle, including research and development, acquisition, production management, and logistics. Prior to his civil service career, Mr. Cundiff spent 5 years in the textile industry. Dan holds an undergraduate degree in Management from Virginia Tech, and a Masters in Business & Contracts from the Florida Institute of Technology. Dan and his wife Susan reside in Springfield, VA.
